When I finished this painting it instantly became my favourite. I think I'll keep this hanging in my living room for a while before I try to sell it.

Got to be careful with those, sunflowers fields are deadlier than a minefield, never know when you're gonna be hit... by a sunflower...seed?

Dynamic is a good word to use to describe this; the whole scene looks alive with the rough strokes and depth of tone. Great work.

I found oils to be easier to work with because i have a habit of tryin to blend everything lol, but your pieces are jus amazing

I used to use oils, but switched over because acrylics are easier to clean and dry faster. I also use a lot of acrylic gel which gives it more of an oil like texture. I know what you mean though, it is very tempting to over-blend everything

This piece is awesome! Your style is like a unique innovation of monet mixed with some van gogh... I love it. It's amazing how you can be so "messy" (not the right word...) and still create such a balanced composition..niice!

Thanks... that's a huge compliment. I honestly didn't intentionally set out to merge those two styles together, although they are two of my favourite artists. People often comment that when you stand up close to my paintings you can't really tell what's going on, but if you stand back from it it all comes together. It's actually a lot tougher to achieve than it might look. The sunflowers in this one were the toughest part. I didn't want to make them overly detailed, but it was difficult to make them still look good. Thanks again for the encouragement.

You know, I think this is my favourite out of all your works that I have seen. This has such a happy-go-lucky feel to it.

Yeah.
You know I think the horizon line is the best. It's got the beautiful golds and cream colours. And the brush strokes in the sky don't look too messy either. They add to the picture, rather.
