One of the prints that I have made for ai-kon! I plan on getting an art table finally, I know that not many people know of final fantasy six, but I just HAD to draw something for kefka. He is my favorite villain after all. I was playing with all sorts of composition in this piece. Tell me if it looks okay...! ;v;(Manduin and shiva are my two fav espers... poor captives!)
This is only a symbolic representation of kefka. I know that he doesn't have horns and a glowy red eye.

Actually, I did use a dark blue to shade. ;v; I think I might have made it a bit too dark though. also, when I adjusted it in the levels, It turned a little darker. I'll be sure to be more careful with my representation of shadows. Thank you for the insight.

Oh wow, this is a really delicate piece. All those details, the pipes, the screws and definitely, the hair strands.
I really like the glows in this piece, it really gives out an eerie feeling. Good job!!

VI was the first final fantasy game I played so it will always have a special place for me <3
As for the art, I really like the symbolic way you portrayed Kefka, it really shows off his maniacal side. Composition wise, I like your use of light and dark and how Kefka is up front and in the spotlight. However, I'm not sure about the placement of the two espers. It's not really clear where they are in connection to the rest of the piece, but now that I think about it... is the wires from Kefka connected to them so he can use them like magicite? I think that if the background was zoomed out more, the story in the picture might be a bit more clear.
Overall though, I still think this is a great piece. Kefka is the star of the piece (as he should be), and his colouring, lighting and expression are great!

Thank you for clarifying the confusion that you had with the over all story. Yes, My idea was that the cables were connected to the espers, but I didn't place them anywhere in particular. I didn't even add a ground for them to be set on. I sort of just, drew them in. When making pieces, usually I work step by step what exactly is happening in the picture, but this time, it was kind of a mix of, "this is what I want to see and I don't care how it's portrayed," And, "I need to figure out a story to show in this piece." I don't normally draw like that.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it nonetheless. The stories in my next prints will be much more clear.

Ah, I understand how that is. I know a lot of times myself that I just draw how I want or with the flow, rather than worrying too much about it.

Thank you...! I've always really enjoyed drawing hair. I dunno why but it's always been my favorite part of pretty much any piece. Except this time, I actually had more fun coloring his beads!

I'm sure if you keep on practicing you'll get there, to be honest, there is a lot about lighting that I still don't know yet. It's one of the fundamentals that I'm still studying.

I agree that the lighting is really nice. The blue glow gives the picture a mysterious touch! Also that it's so dark adds to the feel that this character is a villain and quite dangerous. And I like the hair!

at first, the neck looked a little weird
but then i noticed the cables and such on the side
i got my screen's light low, so i saw it a little late XD

Unnerving is good! XD I was worried that I made the image too dark. ;v; I was thinking it would turn out better when I put it as an actual print. Ai-kon is the anime convention that happens in my city every year. I want to get my first art table. It's unnerving. (Haha, there's that word again!) I want to do a good job and I have a year to prep. I need to buy so many things...!

If there was a comic convention you could get away with dragons. (I checked out your gallery btw!) I like you dragons. They are unique. My fav was the shadow one. Specifically it was the concept of it that attracted me. (Not really a dragon but more like a demon... thing... XD pffft...! Thr description made me chuckle.)

This piece almost looks like a stylized version of The Joker. The composition definitely has a villainous feel with the dark colors and the red eye never fails to give a sinister look. Anyway this is a nice piece and I liked how you put in your own tastes to showcase this Kefka character.

Funny you mention the joker. I was thinking about how the two were so similar while I was drawing this. I wonder if my thoughts bleed onto the piece while I worked on it. XD Also, You're not the first to mention the joker. I'm glad that you liked the composition. That was what I was most worried about.

Whoa! This is one incredibly drawn creepy villain! I love the colours and the way the light plays on his face. Very nice! His face seems a little skewed on the right, like it's a touch too wide or something. However, I love the red eye! He looks extra sinister with it.

I was having a couple of issues with his face. I kept adjusting it. I wouldn't doubt if his skewed face is because of that. I'm glad that you think this looked sinister. That was my goal! XD I'll be sure to keep the facial proportions more in mind next time.
