She doesn't look like a snob, but one of the basic laws of proper manners is to say one thing while meaning another. LYING to your guests or hosts is expected and accepted as part of being polite. Applejack wouldn't be the element of honesty here.

Aaah, but lying for the right reasons; remember, honesty can be a double edged sword, being brutally honest can crush someone or massively offend those you associate with. Can you imagine being totally honest all the time? I'd say that AJ would indeed be skilled at bending the truth, but only to fit in and say what is expected. She looks far too nice in this picture to have any malicious intents. I'm sure everyone in Manehatten would comment on how very nice she was compared to her compatriots.
The flipside would be an element of honesty that was opinionated and rude. (Remeber in Equestria if you're rich or famous you can be as rude as you like and get away with it. Hoity Toity was never anything but honest, but not really a likeable pony.) I can imagine her not bothering to lie to her guests, telling them their house was shoddy,the meal poor and that dress oh-so last year, and getting away with it because she was one of the vastly important Orange family.

I don't know though, it never ceases to amaze me how people turn out, I've even known a few who've managed to be BOTH a tomboy and girly girl. (Usually not both at the same tie, but even then...)

At least that's based on her behavior, rather than simply thinking she's gay because of her MANE! I mean COME ON, that's kinda prejudice.

It's overthinking things. Like how Celestia is supposed to be so sad because all her friends have died over 1'000 years, in the show, a *kids* show, she's a magic princess, that sort of thin just doesn't happen.
But fic relationships are hilarious. One character is deeply in love with another. That character turns out to be gay (Or all the characters are bi!) Chances of this happening IRL: 1/10, chances in fic, 99/100. I especially love Twixie, which is usually worked into being possible via Trixie falling madly in love against her wishes (Because dammit. *I* can't help but fall madly in love with people who humiliate ME!) and\or she gets beaten into an inch of her life to cure that proud streak. (Remember kids, if someone's stuck up or opinionated they can be cured with enough beatings!)
