Time travel only seems to make sense to me under the "alternate universes" theory, where changes you make in the past only have effects in the alternate universe that you end up in as a result of time travel, and not in the original universe that you left from. By this reasoning, Chloe's original world will remain intact, but she will shape the evolution of a new world. She could even take something back to her world, or at least return to a universe that is exactly like the one she left except for the sudden appearance of a prehistoric hunk.
Once she figures out how this works, the rest of the multiverse will be in danger of Chloe, the tine-travelling collector (and under the assumption that the multiple universes theory implies that everything happens in at least one universe, it may be already).
