Hey, some german!
I also hope that the weather will be fine, but I think rain won't stop us to have fun. Are there any places that we MUST visit ( we have a cottage between Cardiff and Swansea). We want to go to Cardiff, Pembroke, Carmathen, the Bracon Becons and Southerndown. I hope this isn't annoying you, but I know no locals who I can ask (you had not to answer of course!)

Apologies for the belated reply, found this beneath a mountain of msgs waiting to be answered
Here`s a day out I can heartily recommend to you:
Take a drive through the Wye Valley [link] stopping off to visit Tintern Abbey [link]
Then drive to Abergavenny [link] ,enjoy a Coffee and relax, then head through the Country lanes to Llanthony Priory (not open on Mondays) [link] You can take a nice walk up the Mountain side from here if you`re in an energetic mood.
From here (via the car of course),head right through mostly single lane Country roads for several miles passing a very small White Church [link] (avoid the Weekends,it can be a right pain reversing and waiting for oncoming traffic) up onto Gospel Pass and you can witness these awesome views >>> [link] & [link]
From atop here, drop down into the very famous Town of Books,Hay-on-Wye [link]
From there, you can travel back through a different route back towards Crickhowell [link] which is back within a few miles of Abergavenny.
If you need any more info, ask and I`ll help if I can
