Description The Solar System Planets and their Exoplanet Doppelgangers

The 8 planets have their exoplanet doppelgangers, which have their same equivalents and statistics to each other, but have several differences. Let's compare between these planets and exoplanets

  • Mercury = Kepler-37b: Both planets are small and barren and are considered to be the smallest planets. Kepler-37b is smaller then Mercury, but is larger than Pluto (which is not in the picture due to being a dwarf planet)
  • Venus = Corot-7b: Both planets have a hot scorching surface. Venus is covered with a thick atmosphere with a hot runaway greenhouse effect, while Corot-7b is made of hot lava lakes and oceans on its surface
  • Mars = TRAPPIST-1h (Aranyani): Both planets have a rusty deserted surface with low density. Mars is a desert or arid planet, while TRAPPIST-1h (Aranyani) is an icy planet
  • Earth = Kepler-186f (Kevin): Both planets have habitable conditions that support life. Earth is home to human life, while Kepler-186f (Kevin) is home to extraterrestrial alien life
  • Jupiter = HD 100546 b: Both planets are very large and are considered to be the largest planets. Jupiter is a gas giant, while HD 100546 b is a gas supergiant (not a brown dwarf), albeit a bit smaller than the sun but larger than the red dwarf star TRAPPIST-1
  • Saturn = J1407b: Both planets have a ring system. J1407b's rings are much larger than Saturn, giving it's enormous ring system
  • Uranus = HD 189733 b: Both planets have blue in their color. Uranus is an ice giant and rotates on its side, while HD 189733 b is a hot Jupiter that rains glass sideways
  • Neptune = 55 Cancri e (Janssen): Both planets have diamond features. Neptune is an ice giant that rains diamonds on its surface, while 55 Cancri e (Janssen) is a hot Super-Earth in which the surface is made of solid diamonds

This comparison is based off of Pluto's Reprisal Part 4: Planets vs Exoplanets
