The buildings must have been a pain to draw, if you didn't just Photoshop an image of a city on there. It looks awesome.

Reminds me almost of the prologue to Nausicaa:Vally of the Wind when the God-Warriors destroyed the civilized world in 7 days of fire. (I believe that's what they were called. It's been awhile since I've read the manga or watched the film.)
