Description I woke up yesterday morning, and found our beta floating in his habitat. As I stood there lamenting to my husband about what a cool fish he was and how much my daughter was going to miss him because he had been her favorite, he gave a few flops to let me know he was still kicking (flipping?). So I quickly filled a nearby measuring cup with spring water, added a tablespoon of salt and transferred Sherk (short for Great White Sherk) in there. Ever since I've been a kid, I've always done this for sick fish and it usually works. After I came home from church, he was still floundering and weak. Several hours after that, I was certain the poor little guy would be fertilizer by evening. But by evening, he was all better, and even ate some of his favorite dried worms. This is Sherk in his Beta Intensive Care Unit giving me a look of "Can I get outta here now?". I have to stop and pick up a gallon of spring water at the store a little later so I can clean out his habitat, which is so filthy, that's probably what almost killed him. I know that they only last a couple of years, but for some reason we really got attached to this one. I guess we'll get to enjoy him a bit longer at least...
