Full study after Ralph McQuarrie.
I see some issues in this. In some cases the darks aren't quite deep enough - and i've identified my desktop monitor as the problem; my Surface shows things pretty accurately. And I couldn't quite match the fog.
And while it may not be perfect, I am pretty happy with how this did shake out.

What did I learn?
* Sometimes artists DO use black - or at least the reproduction of it does.
* Water is mostly reflective of its environment.
* If I want to get better, I need to develop some habits to permit me to work on paintings for longer than 10 hours over 6 days of work. Even though I really like this picture, at this point, I'm just glad to have it to a point that I can call it done. I'm feeling like "done is better than perfect."

And now, I can fully move into Week Two for Art Camp - Sketching from Imagination!
