(Starship Troopers story)
As an extension of “Starship Troopers” and the interstellar battle between the Terran Federation (humans) versus the Uropigy Empire (bugs) 🐜 I present the concept of:
The "Brain bug" is the commander and the leader of tactical operations for the arachnid empire, being the most intelligent caste he is symbiotically and telepathically united with each member of his colony directing the military raids to invade a new planet.
"SICON" the military intelligence of the Terran confederation was unaware of the existence of some kind of intelligent Bug and only paid attention to the wild arachnids on the surface of "Klendathu"; At the beginning of the invasion of the planet, the bugs changed their primitive behavior and began to attack in a coordinated way the army of the federation that, breaking ranks, were directed to a trap where they managed to have 100,000 casualties in all deployments.
With the loss of so many squads by the bugs, the higher ups put aside disbelief and reconsidered the existence of some kind of intelligent bug that was hiding in the deepest chambers of the planet. With new instructions, squadrons of infantry were sent back with the mission of inspecting the nests and their tunnels to capture the brain.
The "Brain bugs" are arachnids difficult to eliminate due to their rank of commanders, they always remain escorted by the "Warrior Bugs" who will defend them to the death; Despite their large size, they have barely functional legs so they are always being carried by the "Arkellian Sand Beetles" which are the working class equivalent of arachnids.
Finally, the “Brain bugs” have the ability to consume the brains of their prisoners of war by piercing the skull with a sharp proboscis that protrudes from their mouth to absorb memories and obtain tactical secrets to plan traps and ambushes (their method is so cruel as his contempt for the human race.) 😦
