Description
The magic bird of the cloud forest...the Resplendent Quetzal. It was a dream that I would at least see this bird. I saw it on several occasions near Savegre (Costa Rica) and had absolutely outstanding opportunities for photography. At one time several males and females were sitting in the very same tree. Like all trogons, they are generally relaxed and slow-moving birds. I can still see their heads slowly swiveling back and forth as they scanned the tree tops...occasionally stopping to gulp down a small avocado. Mission accomplished!Related content

Omg, you managed to capture a picture of it?! It's the national bird of my country (Guatemala) and it's really hard to get a phtoo , let alone a quetzal in flight

Honestly this is by far the most beautiful shot of a bird and scenery I've seen. The background colors compliment the birdy so well, and he himself is amazing. You do him justice by saying magic bird XD
