Hi guys! Long time no see! I have been drawing intermittently, but I haven't been uploading them much on DA. How is everyone?ย
As with many of you, I'm very very tremendously immensely irrationally excited about the upcoming movie!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH so much so that it's inspired me to make a new mini comic!
Despite Simba being a bit jealous of not being able to star in it (you're not live action, Simba) and thinking he'll do a better job, I'm sure he's just as excited as the rest of us! Right, Simba?

Probably the movie will be impressive, but I feel that we have been having way too many lions a Lions Kings over the recent years with that crappy Lion Guard thing... XP and I guess that some people may be bored with so many lions (to which we could add this current "Mia and the white lion" *in a Psychosis-like voice* I seeeeee lionssssss... everywhere...ย ย

You didn't know about "Mia and the white lion"? So odd...
Well, this movie is related with TLK only in that it is set in Africa as well, featuring lions (and some hyenas too) and a white lion as (co)protagonist to the story, but as for the rest it has nothing to do with TLK, and the story is filled with human (real) characters.
There are at least two or three remarkable points about this movie:
- first, the white lion (and the other lions and hyenas too) is REAL; no CGI creation as in this oncoming TLK remake.
- second, the film took 3 years to be filmed, so the girl and the lion are both and each THE SAME characters; a girl and a lion who grow up along and together for those years. The cute white lion cub at the beginning is the same full-grown lion by the end, and the girl (Daniah de Villiers) is the same girl too.
- the guy who plays the girlยดs father is Kevin Richardson, that famous "lion whisperer" who owns all the lions appearing in the movie.
I have already watched the movie, and I must say that there is more than one thing that disappointed me about it:
- they leave native black-skinned African people too much to the background (barely any black-skinned person to be seen);
- the score sounds anything but African to me (they could have used the songs for any other movie not set in Africa);
- the plot seems not so new to me about these movies on a large feline, kind of "Born free", or "Duma the cheetah",or "The Bir Roar" (that is why, by the way, my current illustrated story on Alan follows a different direction, or at least so it tries).
