Ok... so
i'm really proud about this one, i've never been good in b&w photography, so this was a tough experiment for me, i'm really exited to proove myself that i CAN 
Looking at it i was like " damn this photo speaks, this photo has emotions" and i makes me even more happy. You should know that i'm a kind of 'good-quality-freak' and i'm always carefull with noise and grain, but, as you see, in this photo, i didnt follow my rules and i left it as it was, looking like some kind of old photo, i wanted it to has a feeling, an atmosphere... Why 'The grugde'? Becouse it reminds me a movie with this title, quite good horrour

i saw it in someone's favourites gallery and my eye went
immediately to it and this photo held me , it
held my gaze - it's quite powerful indeed.

like natural sunlight, is it?

Hi, mi to bardziej przypomina kobiete-kot niz klatwe..no ale jak dla mnie praca ok, mogla by ta twarz byc ciut bardziej pochylona i miec bardziej przymrozone oczy. A tak to ladna praca.

It's hard to find a perfect balance between hair and face in a shot like this, but i think you came close. The side lighting does help in giving some detail and dynamics to the hair (which is btw wonderfully strategically styled here) and the one eye glaring through it is powerful. Reminds me of the girl from The Ring, only sexier

I love the expression on your face. I think it makes the whole shot! But the way your hair is kinda of wild and hides parts of your face really adds to the overall feel of this piece. Wonderful work!

for someone that never really touches into black and white photography, you really nailed it with this shot. wow. that's fantastic. the way your hair falls in front of your eyes to only reveal a portion of your face... wow. how the hair is barely illuminated enough to see the texture in each chunck.. wow. your expression, pose, lighting, black space... fantastic. what an amazingly great shot... reminds me of one i did a while back. check the link here --------> [link] if you like that, you might wanna check out the rest of my gallery. anyway, either way, great work. that's some excellent portraiture.

...but for the record, the grudge was a terribly disappointing horror. it was an effects movie, and that's it. there was no plit whatsoever. the effects were great, though.

Very nice image I like the way you have the lighting here good technique. Black and white really complements this peice well. It emphisizes the shadows and lighting which makes it stand out even more. I love the excellent focus and clarity. Great job WONDERFUL image!!!

I love this - it is so different and so well taken. The quality seems to be a bit noisy, but if anything that kind of adds to the "feel" of the image.
Well taken and well presented, and the color saturation works in perfectly.

Jeden z niewielu portretow, ktore wywarly na mnie duze wrazenie. Podoba mi sie naprawde. Pasza mi takie klimaty, wiec nie zawaham sie sfavowac

whoaaa! i really liked your other photos, but this is just amazing. i never saw the movie (missed it several times ... yay) but there's a tool song with that name. interestingly, the colors and motif are also almost tool-like.
and ... i don't know why, but the photo's mood reminds me of one of my favorite photo locations, a dark and spooky locomotive shed ... as if you were living there. i don't know where you're living but if you ever come to visit berlin, don't miss it ^__^
the only things i don't like about the photo are some technical issues - the dark parts are maybe too dark, there's nothing left but black. also, the sharpness could be improved a bit - try photoshop's high pass filter, it's often more useful than the unsharp mask if used correctly. and how about removing the noise? but hey, even if you don't change a bit, this is worth a fav. two favs.

Zniewalajace wlosy i spojrzenie. Klimat rowniez. Bardzo fajna kompozycja, fragmentaryczna. Jednak sie przyczepie do jasnej strony nosa... troche za duzo swiatla. Zamaskowal bym troche i pokazal detale. Dodalo by to jeszcze wiecej plastycznosci.
