Though the state was further north, Michigan’s temperatures were giving New Mexico a run for its money with the intense heat. Wyatt and Koda was glad that, in addition to bringing shorts, they had the foresight to bring a lot of sunscreen. After getting Copper and Toto settled in the air conditioned room, Koda focused on unpacking and deciding what he need to iron for the following day’s show. Wyatt meanwhile organized the dogs stuff and put the dog food in the closet, just in case someone (mainly Copper) didn't try to have a midnight snack.
Toto had settled in well for being one of the two new dogs added to Rohan and it was ironic that both dogs in the room had been sired by Ghoul. To Koda’s surprise, Copper not only tolerated Toto’s presence in the room but invited him to a tug-of-war session with a squeaky stuffed bear. This was Copper, who preferred people to dogs, other than his father and Coralia. Who sat in the shade at the dog park and watched all the other dogs run and play.
“Wonders never cease,” Koda smiled as he hung up a button up shirt as the sound of squeaks filled the room.

The sun shone brightly on the Oak and Spruce trees, providing minimal shade to those seeking shelter under its leaves. All the participants of the show, human and dog, were getting the brunt of the summer heat and it just so happened that it was very humid as well.
“I know we live in New Mexico, which is infamous for the heat, but at least it’s dry heat,” Koda commented to Wyatt, both standing beneath a tent with Copper panting at their feet
“Yeah says the guy who prefers the cold rather the heat even though he lives in New Mexico,” Wyatt nudged Koda’s shoulder before holding his hand,” You both will do fine, you’ve practiced this routine hundreds of times.”
