Description
(Ah, one of my personal favorites. Channeled some manta ray body structure with some of the concept art for “Dagahra”DAGARLA
Height (at shoulder): 30 meters
Length: 150 meters
Mass: 40,000 metric tons
Bio:
To say that DAGARLA (sometimes called "Dagarha") is a living weapon would be like calling Godzilla "a big lizard." Single-minded and ferocious by nature, Dagarla attacks and destroys without mercy, and all that intimidating jargon than follows the wake of the deadly sea monster. Yet where did such a monstrousity come from? It can't be natural, and it's too perfect a destroyer to be a simple mutation...
As expected, Dagarla is a creation of Gigamass, made to purge the world’s oceans. When Shiori went back home to her native Okinawa for the summer, she didn’t expect the curse of the living bio-tech to follow her even there. The tides around the island were turning red with BAREM, small starfish mutations made by Dagarla himself to assimilate raw biomass for the monster’s energy supply. Ghogo’s bodily fluids fought off the ill effects of the Barems’ venom, but the only way to get rid of Dagarla was to try and find some old Elias tech.
Shiori and a pair of dorks from her summer school classes soon found themselves deep in an ancient Elias-made temple, long hidden beneath the waves, thanks to Belvera’s meddling. Meanwhile, Mothra arrived to battle Dagarla, but the sea monster proved itself nigh-untouchable while under water, and Mothra soon found herself being dragged beneath the waves to share her mother’s fate…until BATTRA intervened! The armored insect was more than capable of fighting undersea while Mothra climbed the tower to try and heal her Barem-covered body.
Deep within the structure, the kids found a holographic download of one of the Elias's chief scientists. She gave them a strange new object, the "Orb of Love." She revealed to them that the Seal of Faith, bound to Ghogo's tail, was one of the tools used to seal Gigamass. The Orb was the second, but it was no longer safe with her now that Gigamass has targeted the tower. So, she gave it to Shiori.
It wasn’t until Ghogo’s power was finally unlocked that the little piece of Gigamass, intended to be a failsafe should the power ever go out-of-control, sacrificed its energy to rid Mothra of the Barem infection.
Mothra and Battra lead a combined elemental assault on Dagarla and destroyed the monster. But with Ghogo gone and the Gigamass core still hidden somewhere, how could Mothra hope to erase this menace?
Abilties/Aspects:
- Able to produce Barem, who, in turn, collect organic matter, with which to produce more Barem.
- Can fire Irabushan beam from mouth
- Limited flight
- Able to create waterspouts (giant water tornados)
- Can swim in excess of 50 knots
- Shoulder cannons can fire concentrated Barems and toxins to attack foes

Very very cool !
Dagarla is like a nuclear submarine covered with scales .
This artwork matches exactly the mental picture I have of this kaiju .
It deserves a kaiju sized favourite

I never saw the entire movie, but I did like the look of this fellow when I first spied him on screen. I love the head shape and position. Very guttural and monster-riffic.

Is he-... Is he propelled by Scrubing Bubbles?
'Cause that would be so awesome! He not only leaves a wake of destruction, but also very clean bathrooms!

dude this is awesome. you really made dagarla better than ever. one of my faves. you know Enshohma raised a good point. maybe you should combine a barem with hitodah. like one of the barems lived and still fed on people only to grow large enough to become the pollution creature hitodah. also where are the barem?!?

Very, very cool. I love the more streamlined look, while still having him look fairly "beefy." He doesn't look as awkward as the original, and the changes to the face are terrific. The manta ray inspiration makes him look really good, too.

Yet again, you've taken one of my personally favorite kaiju, and somehow made it cooler than it was before. I love it to the upteenth power. And, let me jump on the bandwagon and say that I can't wait to see what you've done with Razin too.

I've been looking for the Mothra trilogy, even at G-Fest. I heard they're a bit kiddy in some spots, but they look like they'd be so damn fun to watch.
And I might have figured that Dagarla was one of your favorites since I saw you with that "I <3 Dagarla" button at G-Fest.
Anywho, unique-ness is something I always notice in re-designs or original characters; G-Neofied Dagarla here has it. It's definitely an interesting take on it, kinda like what you did with Final Form Destoroyah.
From what I'm seeing, especially with the colors, this one stands out from the other G-Neo kaiju (in a very good way, of course). I've always admired the concept of being unique with one's personality (including my own), and I guess my little perspective rubs off onto works like this.
All in all, probably the best of the G-Neo yet.

I appreciate that your version of events completely removes the whole Aqua Mothra thing. That was silly. In a bad way. Even judging by the standards set by kaiju movies everywhere.

An impressive looking take on Dagarlah, very sleek looking in the sea or air, the manta ray design does help it a lot, though with an absence of hind feet, it looks like it would be harder to walk on land. Still, very streamlined and deadly looking. By the way, what's a Irabushan beam?

mystic moth versus acnient biotech weapon, and the mystic moth barely wins. that gigamass is bad ass, if this creation isn't anything special.

Having seen Dagarla in action, I can say that this version could do everything the original did and not look the least bit out of place. The manta ray features actually work very well with Dagarla who to put it bluntly, was almost like an aquatic ghidorah. Especially with that dracoian head. You've taken the beastie and made it even more aquatic then the original which for the setting of G Neo is great. We need more pure aquatics. I don't think this version would have 'too much' of a problem attacking the coastal cities on land.
Looking forward to the unknown and somewhat underappreciated Raizen. Nice to read about Battra and Mothra in the thick of things with the bio as well.
