I liked the design of Zilla and didn't think he was a bad creature in his own right. But next to the Big-G........
His son on the other hand (y'know, the one who hatched at the end of the film) was MUCH more like Godzilla was in terms of powers and abilities.
Heck, coupled with his speed and agility I'd say Zilla Jr. would actually stand a chance in a fight against Godzilla.

never much liked the cruddy american version, they made him too weak and it was more of a love story than a monster movie.

Interesting spine design. It's somewhere between the Heisei's bluntness and the Millenium's jaggedness, and it works nicely.
I like the way it flows together. There's some saurian, some crocodillian and some iguana in there, but it doesn't overshadow the Godzilla at all.
The pose itself is quite wicked. The swirling anchor increases the dynamicy quite a bit, and it's pleasing to the eye all around.

The irony of the situation is just too awesome to be ignored. Very dynamic pose and use of a prop. I bet this would make one hell of a sailor tattoo. Excellent line art and colors as always.
