Gigan: the Experimental Cyborg

Gigan was originally the mysterious kaiju known as Shiigan, a large Zooplankton kaiju that grew from contact with an alien substance.

Years after IKARUS was formed by the UN, the people of the world voted to have a new organization take control of IKARUS, and that new organization was Alma.

When King Ghidorah first appeared in Vietnam, Alma dismissed IKARUS operation in favor of testing out the Production Type Space Hunter Units. SH-01: Gigan and SH-02 Megalon. Ghidorah vanished in a flash of light, thus dismissing the SH Units.

When KG reappeared in Europe just hours later, IKARUS’ MFS-01 was deemed obsolete in favor of the cyborg Space Hunter Units. However when the pilots of Gigan and Megalon attempted to use their units’ beam weapons, it overheated their entry plugs, boiling them before the plugs themselves blew up, releasing Gigan and Megalon from Alma’s control.

King Ghidorah later evolved and gained the ability to control left over SpaceGodzilla crystals (this will be a common theme) and gained complete control over Gigan and Megalon, whose lives at this are filled with complete pain considering they are scientific abominations never meant to exist. Both of them met their ends at the hands of MFS-01: Jaguar J
