It's been a long time since I've done anything conceptual, but my sister challenged me to try it out. This is the result. It was actually pretty fun to make. It's a self-portrait, since I view myself as an optimist. The darkness surrounding shows my struggle with not becoming cynical. I also live more in my head than I do in reality, so I wanted to illustrate that as well.This was made with watercolor, pen, and gel pen.
