Bio: Zuri's parents doted on her from a young age, and when they heard that Nala was expecting, they immediately began preparing Zuri for a betrothal to the future king. She had to be perfect in every way. She was constantly told by her parents that she was destined for royalty, so when Nala gave birth to a female cub, Zuri's world came crashing down. At first Zuri hated the newborn. She took away her future. But Zuri had an idea: if she couldn't be future queen, she could be the future queen's advisor. It would be an almost equally important role. So, as soon as little Kiara could talk, Zuri would suck up to her, hoping for a friendship.

And they, along with Tiifu, became very close friends. Zuri found herself genuinely liking Kiara's company. She might be annoying sometimes, like how she would prefer to play in the mud than groom herself, but there was a certain charm to Kiara that Zuri liked.

In the battle against the Outsiders, Zuri was among those that have been badly injured. Her face had been slashed up, her throat nearly slit, and there was a huge bite wound on her shoulder. Her own image of herself was tainted, and she believed any value she previously had was lost. It was only after an argument and subsequent resolution between her and Vitani, that Zuri started to see things in a different light.

When Kiara's younger brother Kion was getting married, Zuri went along with Kiara. There she met Baliyo, a goofy but kindhearted lion that made her feel beautiful again. Instead of leaving with Kiara after the wedding was over, Zuri made the difficult decision to stay at the Tree of Life with Baliyo. They later had a son named Zisi.
