Had a very strange week this week. Full of exciting news, but also, full of bad news.
The good -- I painted another watercolour piece successfully, and am happy with how it turned out hehe! Picking up a pace with my watercolour art and style slowly, baby steps! Though it does take a while for me to muster courage to start painting. Once i finish doing the linework or pencil shading, I sit and stare at my drawing progress before I paint, just staring to muster the courage and willpower to 'paint' without fear of screwing it up there. Does that happen to you? Do you sometimes just sit and pray that if you progress, you won't stuff up?
On another note, if you'd like to receive a FREE print of this piece, head over here for details on how to win it for free! I'm doing a celebratory artwork giveaway for my facebook page!

I've always liked your use of color. This piece, even if a bit more minimalistic than the usual, has a lot of expressiveness. The look on her face is very believable, very well done.
And... no need to apologize for the rant. Those are feelings people can relate to... it's not selfish whining (I say this because that's something that kinda puts me off, no offence meant to anybody).

Thanks so much Serban! I really do like the idea of being able to create meaning and expression through sheer simplicity and minimalism. There are people who can do that and can create really intricate and deep pieces successfully and skillfully are so incredible! Namely, someone like Audrey Kawasaki, if you've heard of her! She draws girls so 'plainly' and minimalistically, but her pieces are just breahtaking!
Haha I don't mean to throw my problems or anything on people, it's just it's so sad to see people who have big dreams and a determination like no other. Especially for people my age, there arent so many people out there with big dreams I feel. For him, he was fresh out of high school like me, yet he had this passion and a goal he was so set on and determined for, that he dropped everything for it. Deferred uni, stopped partying, laid down low with socialising, trained everyday, changed his diet and just kept working. So for people like that, it's kind of motivating. And to see them at the end of the road in a situation like that, is depressing

You're welcome! Yes, the "keep it simple" standard is a good one. If you can do it well while doing it simple, that's something you should be proud about. You are on the right path to that
Yes, I know what you mean. This world is unfair, and sometimes, even the hardest worker doesn't get things done right. It might sound shallow, but I suppose this is the time to sit down and try to get anything positive from this experience. Something to use as groundwork to move on to other dreams. I know I'm speaking in a broad spectrum, but in the end, I believe it's as simple as that. Don't mourn, just get up and keep walking. If he's had the determination to do all that, there will be little things he won't be able to achieve in his life.

Hahaha it's a struggle! To be able to deliver something beautiful, creative and new, but simple at the same time!
Yeah, i agree totally. Thanks so much for listening and even bothering with my rant, Serb! Means such a deal!!
