Description This is a Level 2 Menger Sponge. Almost, since I didn't complete the square on the bottom. I did that on purpose since I like it to stand stably on it's corner like that. It would only have been a matter of 4 more tiny cubes. Anyhow, you can really see the pattern emerge from modular 28 to this one.

Done at work over the span of the last 2 months using 2376 post it note business card modules.

just don't let your boss catch you in the act of folding. holding post-it's is not a problem. even folding them is ok. but don't let 'em see you hovering over a mostly finished matrix of cubes. It makes for an ...awkward conversation.

Goodness gracious this is incroyable! I'm a total sucker for fractal origami and this just tops it all...superb display of patience and meticulous work.

Why thank you! Unfortunately, it's nothing compared to some of the others on this site along. [link] , [link] and [link] are all examples of the same thing, done better in my opinion. Maybe once I plate it, though the raw look is at least a little differant. as is standing it on the point I suppose. At least it makes it stand out.

(And nice use of french. I seem to recall that you've been learning it. Got a bit of the way past hiboux, eh?)

All this talk of modulars is firing up my interest again...I haven't dabbled in it for YEARS. Last thing I made...a blintz icosahedron I think.

Bah, don't put yourself down; your work is beautiful anyway.

Thank you. It's not nearly as impressive as if I plated all the exposed sides, but by the time I realized I was up to it, it was too late and I just wanted the model finished. maybe someday I'll plate it like modular 30. That'd be nice...

Incidently, one of the most usefull modules since you can break it out easily at the office to make cubes out of cards. and assemble them into anything that looks like stacked cubes.

I like the block-folding module
And, for cubes, we have sonobe module and variations, no?

yes and no. You can see the differance in my Modular 28s. One was done with sonobe modules and one with buisness card modules. It's just a differant way of doing things, I guess.
