Description

The last scene portrays the mother who lost her sense of surrounding while sinking into her excessive workload. To illustrate the restraints that trap workers to their work, the mother’s fingers are literally sinking into the keyboard buttons as if she’s now a part of it and can’t escape. Continuing the theme of being too far gone into her descent of overworking, covering the mother’s head is an old diver’s helmet, as to portray her drowning in her workload and being surrounded by nothing but that. The player will also follow the mother’s story through the screen of her computer, in which the background will slowly black out as she continues to work.
In addition, I modeled lines of blocks in Maya to create reference for the keyboard buttons. I also adjusted the camera view in the modeling software to create a one-point perspective view, so as to make it seem as if the buttons are descending in size the further they are, which helps create depth in the reference image.
