Description

Sakura Nobuzaki is a young woman in her 20’s is described as beautiful girl with talents for Judo and poetry. She is very expressive in her passions and even wanted to be a well-known martial artist and poet in the future. Despite her good and innocent dreams, she has a deep hatred for the old women around her town as she looks down upon them, mock them, and she is also stealing from them.

A traveler visited the town one day and tells a story of Mimiko: the foolish girl that was hanged for stealing from old women. In her mind, she believes that the story is nonsense and that this Mimiko might have beaten them. She leaves the traveler and he warns her that the tale is real and she could take caution. She refuses to listen and leaves.

Later, she heard of a house that is currently resided by three old women and she decides to steal from them as it will be a piece of cake. Before leaving, Sakura dons her white uniform and wears no shoes, she likes to be barefoot a lot, she also pins her hair up in a bun, so that her hair could not get messy.

At night, she finds the house in the woods and decides to enter there, the old women were still awake and is alarmed by the opening of their door. They soon find Sakura and she threatens them, but they do not fear her. This was not Sakura expected, nonetheless, she prepares to fight them.

The three old women overpower Sakura and defeat her. Sakura tries to flee but the two old women pin her down while one of them ties her hands on her back.

“Why? I thought you old women were defenseless against me?”.

“Listen, young one, we may be old, but we can fight. We heard about you Sakura, so we prepared ourselves and look at you now, you are now at our mercy.”.

“What shall we do to her?”.

“Since she threatens the lives of some in the town, I suggest we give her the Mimiko treatment. Grab some rope and I’ll grab the rope and chair, it’s time we show her how we will punish her. Oh, remove her bun and make her quiet.”.

One of the women removed her bun allowing her hair to fall straight down, while Sakura panicked, realizing the girl they mentioned was in the traveler’s story, “Hey!! The two of them grabbed Sakura and put her in the room where a chair is placed in the middle while a noose is attached to the roof. She panics more but all three of them use ropes to tie her body, they also tie her bare ankles. They then attached the noose to her neck and force her to stand in the chair.

She breathes heavily as she realized what will happen: she will be hanged by these old women. Sakura also cries and begs one last time to be let go, but the old women has made up their mind

“Now Sakura, be calm, this is what you deserved for mistreating the elderly. Now, remove the chair if you are ready.”.

The two women then pulled the chair out and Sakura is then dangling from the roof, she tries to move but it’s of no use as she is finally hanged. The old women then checked her to confirm if she passed away and they confirm it. They leave the room, with Sakura hanging from the roof as a single tear is shed from her face.

The traveler learns about her fate and shakes his head, but he knew that she deserved it for harassing the elderly. He would then make another tale about Sakura, he titled it with:

Sakura: the girl who was defeated by old women and is deservingly hanged by them
