Description
The Neonallian are a humanoid sapient species from the isolated, high pressure world of Radiun in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from most other spacefaring civilizations.

Humanoid in basic shape, the neonallian have large, wide torsos with long arms ending in long, lanky fingers and short legs with three digits. Their heads have their most distinguishable features, with an elongated cranium with two small, sunken eyes and a lamprey like mouth with six large teeth arranged in a circle and numerous smaller ones continuing down their throat. Like all creatures on Radiun, the neonallian have evolved in a cold, high pressure environment with significant ammonia content in the atmosphere; their flesh decompresses and can evens split open in lower pressure, and ammonia has become a key part of their respiration- though they still require oxygen, but can survive with very little of it for prolonged periods of time. Because of this, they require special suits for when off world that conceal much of their biology, and as such few have seen first hand how they look.

The neonallians have evolved as piscivores, hunting for food in and living along the waters of Radiun's many lakes and rivers flowing from the glacial covered mountains. Their primary social structure has always been family clans with a matriarch at its head with overall leadership and one or more patriarchs responsible with leading the clan's warriors, the guardians of the tribe and its territory. Within the clans were, as a rule, strict hierarchies and well defined social roles for every individual, from warriors for fighting rivals, professional hunters to gather food in the shallow waters of rivers to nurses responsible with raising their newborn brothers and sisters and scholars responsible with advancing sciences for the benefit of the clan. Only a number of females and males were born fertile, and they were at the center of neonallian civilization, the nobles. Though it was not impossible for lower individuals to achieve positions of power such as the temporary leader of the warrior class, the nobles have always held ultimate power over the masses.

Though some clans were related to one another and mostly got along, the neonallian as a rule are very territorial and do not shy from wiping out competition at all- as such, most of their history has been marked by intense violence and outright genocide being a common occurrence. Most individuals within a clan have a deeply ingrained loyalty to the nobles, especially to its matriarch (which could grow up to three times their normal size and live for two to three hundred years), whom they revered to near deity level.

Their high birth rates ensured a mostly stable population despite the number one cause of death for most of their history being murder at the hands of a rival clan- most of the population was concentrated in the larger clans that built the first cities; even as early as their stone age, these cities could grew to be hundreds of thousands strong and over time only grew bigger and hungrier for resources. The earliest neonallian space program was around 300 BCE precisely to alleviate the massive need for resources that plagued the planet, but it would take until about 100 CE for them to acquire hyperdrive technology, and all the while Radiun has been torn by endless strife and its snow tainted by blood.

Their early contact with intelligent life was through radio signals and other emissions from the nearby ancient superpower, the Vonllen, and proper first contact with other intelligence was with the Gjavot of Yauru. Because of their territorial nature, most neonallians became increasingly xenophobic as they made contact with more and more species. Despite being somewhat united under the umbrella of a Coalition that dominates a fairy large area of space with reasonably advance technology, the most fevered xenophobic factions have yet to attempt any actions against aliens even as they rally the masses around their xenophobia, being far busier fighting among each other for domination.
