Description
The new System Preferences icon I created for SynOS. As much as I am an advocate for Skeuomorphism, I also advocate for minimalism, for simplicity. It should be visually appealing and easy on the eye. This icon is a beautiful balance between skeuomorphism and minimalism. It looks clickable and it's eye catching whether it's small or enlarged.

Every part of this icon was done by me in Photoshop. I have put a ridiculous amount of detail, and those with a keen eye can notice and appreciate the detail. The Central Gear Cog for example looks 3 dimensional, with the center perfectly aligning with the mounting holes in the back. In the bottom, you can see the bevel which makes the metal shine as if it were real. Brushed Metal and Stainless Steel is everywhere, harmonious with each other. If you see the left and right gear cogs, you will notice they don't have the same texture, they're unique. The stainless steel makes them look very high quality. All this contained in a glossy glass and steel container - as if you're peeking at these gears from an industrial window. The icon floats in the midst of stitched linen, animating and pleasing the eye.
