Veronica had not expected the hostile reaction she received from the locals, and their taser barrage had managed to fry her internal batteries. Self-repair would take a week for her Nanotech on reserve power. And even then, charging the batteries would not be easy. As best she could tell, they were trapping her in some type of mineral-oil, which with her at low power meant she couldn’t shapeshift. What was worse, the oil was highly insulating, and it would be impossible to snag an electric current... Thankfully, her Android body had many ways of sustaining itself. The fluid had not been kept cold, and was instead at room temperature. While this preserved the insulative properties, it also allowed Veronica to slowly sap thermal energy from the fluid around her. After another week of being trapped in that fluid, she finally had just enough power to escape.... and her vengeance was swift.
