Full title: "That's no way to greet your mother."
Submission for AvannTeth 's contest

The scene is of her character's: Sapphirelia and her mother. I imagine her confronting her mother a little before the Lich King's fall? Likely she's caught her carrying out some plan to bring down the floating city. I could hear the trickle and flow of water in my head and the women's voices echoing off the stone as I was working on it. Can you hear it? Torches crackling; quiet squeaks and scurrying of rats? Sapphirelia probably still panting from exertion of running there as well as anger.

I've always imagined the air in Dalaran smelling a bit spicy with magic [oddly enough, the chemical stock room at my university smells much as I would imagine of magic, smooth with a hint of cinnamon and sparkle]. It would be warm from the sheer number of bodies both humanoid and animal, from flames of kitchens, cauldrons and torches. Cool breezes would drift through, resulting from the latitude and altitude. In the sewers though, the air would be more stagnant. The stench of sewage mixed with aging potions would be quite heady if not intoxicating and nauseating.

Sapph may say, "This ends here!" [Probably addressing her as "witch" or some similar insult]. To which her mother may reply, "That's no way to greet your mother." [likely with patronizing and mockingly sweet tone]

What kind of story do you see here?

I usually have trouble deciding on the proper gallery for these things...Anyway, I spent a few hours on this. I suppose if I took more time it'd be better but even then I can never be good as some of the manipulators.

I'm pretty happy with the water splashing at Sapph's feet. lol. I also think the fog is a nice touch. I'm still learning how to adjust lighting, I tend to have three layers for a character or the background screenshot (top is "Screen (light), middle is multiply (dark) and the original/normal); I erase until I like it. /shrug Don't even get me started on doing hair. I'm terrible at it.
