Great capture, as always Have you used graduated filters or is it just photoshop? If it's so, how did you manage such a fine gradient? Love the light ... keep up the good work

ohTHATaaronbrown [2006-07-19 17:32:41 +0000 UTC]

I'm really curious how you achieve the beautiful warm tones which are so prevalent in your work. Are they the result of warming filter adjustment layers in Photoshop, or do you have a complex adustment scheme which you follow for them?

Care to share? I'd love to learn

Really a superb picture! I love it!

btw Did you ask the clouds to make place for the high tension lines?
I like the alternation cloud / powerline / cloud / powerline / cloud.

Thanks, I will remember and... won't spread the word.

btw Are they expensive?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Konijntje In reply to SmoothEyes [2006-07-19 14:42:09 +0000 UTC]

If you buy them in "bulk" then they give you a price break.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SmoothEyes In reply to Konijntje [2006-07-19 14:44:40 +0000 UTC]

I thought so. But the problem with clouds in bulk is that if you get it all at once it becomes to cloudy

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Konijntje In reply to SmoothEyes [2006-07-19 14:46:05 +0000 UTC]

Ahh...good point! I didn't think of that.
...and that is something you're all too familliar with.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SmoothEyes In reply to Konijntje [2006-07-19 14:51:13 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately I am. But for now we haven't seen clouds in days. We have a real heatwave going on. It's about 35Β°C in the shade. I'm staying inside this afternoon cause it's too hot to do anything outside. The garden in suffering too. I have to sprinkle some water every evening to keep some kind of plants and flowers alive.

Ack...I know...yesterday was 41.1C.
It makes doing anything...just miserable.
All the vogeltjes are camped out on the little rocky ledges of my pond.

SmoothEyes In reply to Konijntje [2006-07-19 14:59:31 +0000 UTC]

When I came back from France I had to fill up my small pond where the tadpoles live. They where hopping/swimming around in a mere 5 cm of water! Now there fine. Most of them have 4 paws now and still a tail.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Konijntje In reply to SmoothEyes [2006-07-19 15:01:14 +0000 UTC]

Wow! They are still growing?? I would have thought they would be full frogs by now.
Glad to hear they survived!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SmoothEyes In reply to Konijntje [2006-07-19 15:05:19 +0000 UTC]

They are now about 1,5 cm! Soon they will loose their tail and get on land. Then they will start growing to become full frogs (within a year and a half).

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Konijntje In reply to SmoothEyes [2006-07-19 15:06:04 +0000 UTC]

That's a pretty long process!

SmoothEyes In reply to Konijntje [2006-07-19 15:11:46 +0000 UTC]

No need to faint for that. It takes us humans even more. But of course we're more complex (or complicated? )

Beautiful symmetry and a great sky! Don't tell me it's real cause I am gonna blow up! :envy:
The vignietting makes it look retro!

I think you should give us lessons on the way you manipulate your photos!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Konijntje In reply to Pytheas [2006-07-19 14:26:59 +0000 UTC]

Glad to hear it looks retro...I like a dusty, surreal, retro, desert look!

Lessons? It's hard to teach when you don't know what you're doing.

Pytheas In reply to Konijntje [2006-07-19 14:43:05 +0000 UTC]

It surely looks retro...like an american 70's road movie, as I've told you before!
I would love to be next to you when you start manipulating your photos, so that I could steal some of your secrets...
