awesome models. you are a god . I just had a small question tough, I was looking for a reference to draw a custom Alicorn, and I was wondering if you minded that I hand draw her in the same position as your 3D model. (I don't want to be called an art thief or anything like that, so I prefer to ask permission first) basically I paused the animation at the angle I needed and drew the body with the similar proportions/pose as a base to complete my own. so wether I use this base to continue the picture or not is up to your decision, if you refuse I'll simply look the episodes to see if I can find a Celestia/nightmare moon in a position that works as well. thanks for your attention, and keep up the awesome work

What is the process for making these? Do you sculpt in Zbrush, Import to Maya for rigging, apply models made with Aftereffects, and then put the presentation together in Flash? I only ask because if you were able to make these incredible designs with Zbrush, I may have to look into the software!
Also, was the glow effect something Maya had built in? It looks wonderful.

the glow effect was done in aftereffects, too.
p.s. looking forward to chapter 5 of the 63rd rune

hi, most of the modeling is done in zbrush. i use maya for things that are difficult to do in zbrush - like selecting and moving certain vertices, adding geometry or changing topology etc.
I do not rig them. the poses are done in zbrush with the transpose tool.
Rendering is done in zbrush, too.
I use aftereffects to convert the rendered images into a video and to add effects.
Then i use flash to set up the controls and export the swf file that can be uploaded here.
