its a cartoon
many artists have their own style and different ways to draw something
this also includes if they want to make someone feminine or not
regardless of gender

True so I guess that could change depending on the artist.

It might also be a "mistake" from the artist. Perhaps he didn't know about Spike's r63 name ("Barbara") when he did this.

I don't think so. There'd probably be some mention of it otherwise.

KP-ShadowSquirrel isn't much into making descriptions of that kind; if you have been following him for months already, you might have noticed he only leaves some external links and his Patreon in his drawings.

Ooooh, well then, we won't know until KP himself answers.

exactly
theres also things called headcanons which could end up making aΒ
character more feminine depending on how the artists sees them
and wants to portray them
in the end its still fine for men to be feminine

I never meant to imply that it wasn't. I just thought it was a great departure from the show style of his body which is more, well I guess at the moment it's underdeveloped being neither really. And I guess it's not how I see Spike in the future, which is more skinny teen than feminine, although then again that's not THAT far off now that I about it. Sorry, I'm rambling... You really have me thinking about Spike now and his identity in the future.

oh by all means you are allowed to have your own opinion
im just kind of unnerved by the fact most of the comments on this piece
is pointing out the fact he looks feminine and its kind of insulting on my
behalf for personal reasons so i thought i would educate people on it
though i think i started a small war over the matter for a split second

Yeah, I realized that. And I have to be careful not to make assumption about gender. I'm trying to be more open-minded on the subject, so I don't blame you for thinking that. It's not entirely wrong. I just don't think Spike is that character based on the show. I can think of a few awesome characters like that though. Mostly from anime since Japan has a much looser view on gender roles. It was really nice when I went to Japan and guys weren't afraid to dress feminine (although they mostly only did it in the fashion district Shinjuku).

well its good to hear youre trying to be more open minded
more so because it applies to me since im not cisgendered, male or female
i apologize if i had come off rude in any sense, it just gets tiring of seeing
constantly

No, I didn't see it as rude as much as well, well what you were feeling. And yeah, you can thank chaoslife for that! That comic as well as a lot of other things really opened me up to just how dynamic gender roles are. Also, just a question on terminology. Since you're not cisgendered, would that make you agendered? It seems like there is a LOT of different terms used and it helps when I can just get a clarification.

no, im genderfluid
agendered is a gender of its own for someone who doesnt have a gender or feel they
dont need one/identify with one i identify with genderfluid therefore im a transgender genderfluid person

bobshmit13 In reply to redsveil [2016-04-11 04:25:52 +0000 UTC]
Huh, so what does that mean? You can identity as both or just like a combination of both but not necessarily one? I looked up the definition and Google sad this:Β gender identity which refers to a gender which varies over time. AΒ gender fluidΒ person may at any time identify as male, female, neutrois, or any other non-binary identity, or some combination of identities. Am I on the right track?

Holy shit, man. Why are you so offended? He only said Spike looks feminine.
I'm 100% sure it's a genderbend, anyway.

im not offended, im more educating people
almost all of the comments on this piece before hand was nothing but 'oh he looks feminine.. but hes a guy!!!'
if people didnt want to talk to me, they could have just not replied just like how you could have avoided
replying to a comment that was between me and another personΒ Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
im just tired of people say guys cant be feminine thats all so how about you chill

Nephiam In reply to redsveil [2016-04-09 10:34:34 +0000 UTC]
One thing is educating people. Another thing is blatantly replying "what's wrong with being feminine" as if he was saying that being feminine is the worst that can happen to a male.
Just because people you know can't shut up about it, it doesn't mean EVERYONE in the internet is being an ass. I mean, his comment was way more polite than yours.
Also, people will reply if you're being rude.

I came back here, and I realiced I had started a small war. Heh!
Funny enough, the more people I meet that claim to be gender-fluid and try to 'educate' people about it, the more obnoxious I find them. It is like they are trying to be snowflakes.

Nephiam In reply to Dgs-Krieger [2016-04-12 13:31:08 +0000 UTC]
But that's because they get annoying trying to "educate" by force. I still think it was rude of him/her/whatever.

It also doesn't exacty help them...if you want somebody to accept how you are, disrupting them the least is a good way to start. Forcing somebody to change their behaviour because you want to...it ain't gonna work.
