Though these are wicked pictures, no denying THAT, your anime/manga zim work strikes me as taking the wrong tone. Some of what makes invader zim so funny imho is the sheer pretentiousness and melodrama of the main characters attitudes when coupled with their diminutive, currish lackatude. Zim is an abysmal alien killer, but he thinks he is the grandest. Your drawings are almost how the characters imagine themselves. You have given them a nobility that they only carry in their mind at most.

Nobility is subjective. Besides you can work that to your advantage. Ineptitude can be even funnier if it's commited by someone who not only thinks they're competent but look the part they are completely unable to play.
