I miss these fellows from when I was over in Hawaii!
I'm not sure if there is a difference between Common Indian Myna and the ones I became used to, the Common Hill Myna, but they look very much the same

Beautiful Photo!

it is considered pest in most parts of the world

common myna and hill myna are different this photo is very much different than its another photos they were really in different mood that day you can check the earlier photos on the same day

i want some body to explain the reason for their different mood

yah, poor things aren't exactly loved in Hawaii, either :/ very much a "pest", but I still love them! Very intelligent birds, actually. If trained they are some of the best mimic-ers/talkers. ^_^

I'll have to go check out the other myna photos, and I'll do some research on their mood change. Seems very interesting... what date were they taken?

First off, i stared at the linked photo for, like, five minutes strait... those birds are gorgeous! I also did a bit of research, and found that their mating season starts in April ^_^
(note that the breeding season is different for Myna's in other countries, like Australia where it starts around September)
Since Mynas mate for life and are extremely agressive birds (it has been noted that they have been seen raiding the nests of other birds and killing their chicks/eggs -something not uncommon in invasive species-) it wouldn't surprise me if they were fighting to impress a lady friend! Perhaps the "referee" was actually an unmated female? Wish I could tell, but birds are near-impossible to sex by appearance, anyways. The puffing could have been a mating display to appear larger and more suitable as a mate.

Another possibility is that they just got into a squabble? Perhaps one of them wasn't in the mood to have other birds around?

I believe the first possibility is most likely, though ^_^

joke apart there are other photos especially wwf mainas just if you know little bit of these birds (it is common indian myna) they were in different mood i can not tell whether they were angry just have a look at those photos you can check the timings they are taken on the same day and after that fight or were they mating then the questions is what the third one was doing
just curious about it one more thing how they expand their body they moved their neck up and down that is how their body was expanded

there is another shot where its eyes are burning red with anger but in that shot its body is not so puffy and it is comparatively at long distance so i opted for this shot some time latter i will submit that photograph also thanks for observing my photo so minutely and spending your time commenting on it
