Description Here's the second installment of my kimono tutorial.

Hit the download button to see the tutorial at it's full size!

Part 1 - Measurements [link]
Part 2 - Choosing fabric
Part 3 - Kimono pieces [link]
Part 4 - Sewing the sleeves (coming soon)
Part 5 - Sewing the body and attaching the sleeves (coming soon)
Part 6 - Attaching the collar and finishing (coming soon)

Oh! And one more thing! I just found this neat website for figuring out your kimono size. Under the waist measurement put in the part of your body that is widest (hips, bust or waist) to get better results: [link]

Still, it might be best to take some measurements for your arms and such just to be safe since everyone's proportions are different.

Well, everyone's got to start somewhere! I can confidently say, my first kimono attempts were pretty crappy too. XD

A tricky place to get fabric from is WalMart. I -really- wanted to make the kimono that the male geisha in Zatoichi wears. It's a simply striped kimono that was apparently popular in the 1600s or so. I found the -exact- print at WalMart on the dollar table, in 100% cotton.

Yeah. First I need to come up with the monies and the time. I've had a design in my head for a while for a modernized kimono.

Nice~ Thank you!

Umm, just a suggestion, could you allow download on this tutorial or at least make it bigger? It's a little hard to read since the font is so small... T___T
