MY SCANNER IS MADE OF EPIC FAIL AND DO NOT WANT. : (You see the hair? 6 different colors went into that. Three of those six were red. What do you see? Barely two. D:

Other epic fail, blah blah blah, etc, etc. But... I like the picture itself. I just wish you all could see it in RL. It really disappoints me that there's nothing I can do about it, considering how good I felt with the whole piece. I still do, so I hope you guys can just imagine. The colors are about bold enough, just pretend the coloring's a lot more subtle and varied. : ( I had over 5 colors in the skin, too, and-and-and...
BG is also shitty, (idea thanks to Tanuki, beibei) but better than white I suppose. AH, all my detailing, it was butchered. ;v; *cuddles original copy*
Anyway, about 4+ hours of coloring, while nursing a bit of a migraine today. And drinking strawberry smoothie. :>
Guess the final pic's still okay. I'm mulling it over.

lol. Well, maybe not like that, but I suppose it would work. Let's see...I built Dist a castle on that little island of Van's and I suppose there might be a screen-phone connecting that place with Dist and Luke's house. Once Asch reaches the castle all he has to do is phone over and ask/demand some kind of transportation. Thanks for the map by the way. I'm finding great new ways to make my stories plausible. Oh, and apparently Dist and Luke live in Peony and Jade's kindgom now. WOuldn't their marriage make Jade the emperor and Peony the empress? XD <3

Um, I use a variety, actually. XD I have some Prang and Crayola that I refuse to let go of, but a lot of the good coloring (the black, the reds and oranges) are from some artists' brand, Fantasia, that someone picked up for me... I'm not sure how well they fare compared to Prismacolor, but I like them fine. : ) I think it's really more stylistic and how you layer the colors, honestly. People have been asking me back since I was pretty much completely Prang. : )

Yeah, honestly. :/ I'm getting into working with CG, but I can get pretty down from it quite a lot. I still love traditional media better, though I'll admit, BGs are easier to CG.
But a lot of it's about how you apply the colored pencils. For example, I underlay the black with purple, and use it afterwards as well to help work out the white specks. For Luke's orange hair, I go over the red with a yellow for finalizing blending, and I used lavender a lot on his white top (though you can't really tell, ugh scanner) since it blends smoother than gray.... etc, etc. Anyway, the more layers, the better. ;D I love colored pencils sometimes, really.
