A trait observed in many cats is their facination with being inside boxes, it is thought that because cats are a predator which use ambush tactics they may instictivly have a penchent for enclosed spaces to serve as hiding spots. Another possiblity is that enclosed spaces may seem safe to cats as the four walls would make it harder for anything to sneak up on them.
