Description
A map of Crescent Isle, where my homebrewed version of the Dungeon World campaign front "The Great Wyrm Axstalrath" takes place. Apart from using squares instead of hexagons--no hex-grid paper available--the only changes I made to the map were the addition of three human villages just north of Greenscale Swamp and a keep to the east of it. Our version of the campaign is set much longer after human colonization on the island began, so more human settlements seemed fitting. Clockwise they are:1) Wysta, a tiny village whose economy is dependent on the local wizard tower.
2) Besserberg, the largest of the border villages. It prospers thanks to a thriving trade in swamp pearls and lumber.
3) Müllberg, a small market town which serves the needs of border farmers. It has an intense rivalry with Besserberg.
4) Seaguard, a fortress built to prevent lizardfolk raids deep into the heartland of human territory.
Wysta and Seaguard are entirely of my own design, while the name Müllberg and its relationship with Besserberg are inspired by cwalton73's deviation "Adventure Town!" which you can check out here: Adventure Town! by cwalton73 on DeviantArt
If you ever end up running "The Great Wyrm Axstalrath", feel free to adapt my additions to the map however you see fit. You can find the original campaign front by Sean M. Dunstan in "The Dungeon World Guide", available for free on the official Dungeon World website: Downloads - Dungeon World (dungeon-world.com)
I used colored pencils and drew this map entirely by hand.
