Mating dance of the mountain apes

I think the title is self-explanatory, or maybe even redundant. I mean, who doesn’t recognize the mating dance of the mountain apes when they see it? They do this every spring after all. This was drawn in 2004 with some ink pen I borrowed from my mom. It was when drawing this that I discovered the magic of fountain pens as opposed to the ballpoint pens I had mostly been using prior to this. Not only did the distinctness and contrast delight me, but I found that the motive got a lot more abstract and psychedelic then usual. After this, I got my Rotring for Christmas and started doing lots of other weird pieces (Recognition, Mutating arm, etc.).
