I have the correct version of MMD, and my PMX files worked on it earlier today, but now whenever I try to load a PMX file it just causes MMD to close...

Even if i make the models .PMX it says "This file isn't for ploygon movie maker !!"

late reply, but did your model include japanese text ?
if so its because your .zip program automatically attempts to translate it and messes up the name of the texture

Sometimes that happens when a model might have too much stuff added onto them. Try PmxEditer and see what you need and what you don't to get a good result. That's why old models tend to work better than new ones.Β

every time I try to open a .pmx file, it always says it's not for that, I tried your way yet it doesn't work .... any other suggestions? (and yes my friends somehow opened the exact same files)

Hey, my mode, when rying to open in PMXE, wont appear. It'll load like it will, but then there'll be nothing. As if it loaded an invisible modell

Mistress: Um excuse me but I have the latest version of mmd version 9.04 and for some odd reason i can't open a pmx model. It keeps neglecting the model saying that it was made with pmx version 2. I am trying to know how to load models that were made from the pmx version 2 to mmd version 9.04. How do you do that?
