"Target, rush, neutralize" - Dashtroopers motto
The Dashtroopers are units specialized in close-combat.
Sporting state-of-the-art equipment, they are considered as the elite of the Thaaskoviyan infantry, and are tasked a wide range of missions outside of the battlefield, like guarding facilities, special operations, neutralisation of important assets, or even recovery missions.
The "windpack" (also named wingpack) is composed of a pair of high-velocity orientable wings and a compact vectorial jet thruster. The pack allows the trooper to move at high speed and with great agility in both outdoor and close quarter environments.
While not meant to be used for extensive flights because of their high energy consumption required to lift a body, the wingpack can still be used as such in case of emergency.
The user can also carry additional batteries or pocket-generator to increase the autonomy of the pack, at the cost of becoming a potential hovering bomb, as these devices and batteries tend to be highly explosive.
The windpack is controlled by the operator via neuronal inputs: the helmet features dedicated sensors in order for regular users to manipulate the pack, but a chipped or psy-augmented operator is able to perform more complex movements and generally speaking, has a better control of the pack to exploit it at its full potential.
Armament-wise, the standard weaponry of a dashtrooper is a light blade, and a standard autopistol can also be carried to widen the possibilities. Highly trained troopers tend to only carry a blade, as they can perform confusing maneuvers and dashing so swiftly that aiming correctly and shooting at them becomes a question of luck.
