Do I recognise the rocks in the sea from the previous image?

Excellent framing/composition Norm and the colours in the sky are great. One thing that bothers me is that the forground and cave seem flat compared to the distance, particularly the rocks in the middle distance water. I wonder if it would benefit from a little more depth to the blackness in the forground? Just the opinion of an amature please don't be offended

Thanks Alan, never offended but always willing to learn. I know what you mean but not sure how to do.
I am attempting to take the shot, crop to 7x5 and submit.

Well there's two ways that spring to mind: Use the burn tool in PS. This is probably the closest to a traditional method but personally I think the hardest way in PS to get a good result for sharp edges. The other would be to use a simple layer mask to allow you to adjust the levels of the forground without altering the middle at all. I can appreciate that you want to leave them as shot though - very comendable

Thanks Alan. I will look into the tools mentions and if I can use them to help. I need a really good course on PS at my pace.

In one way I am glad because if it could, I have wasted an awful lot of money.
I understand what you mean. I did take the same shot using my Fuji S5000 and it was OK but this is the Nikon version.
Thanks Dan.

I'd still want a K10D, but then again that's just me
The beauty of the K-mount is that you can use any K lens with no problems. The camera will still work, and will only lose some of its functionality (like automation)

Lightfoot11 In reply to ftpaddict [2007-10-06 19:47:34 +0000 UTC]
It's a very good camera. If I did not get the Nikon my second choice was the K10. In 'What Digital Camera' Magazine there is a DSLR shoot out report on the D80 K10D and EOS 30D, D80 came top followed by the K10D then the D30. So keep the dream open foer the K10D.

I'll probably get the K10D when I'm on my own salary.
I'll just have to settle with borrowing my sister's K100D meanwhile
