Description
This species is made based in one of the Sheather888 comissions of a Elephant-like Echidna in a world that the main land animal were echidnas. So, i made one carnivorous echidna to this world, or at least it's concept.

The Monitor Echidna is from a clade of derived echidnas that especialized into their low metabolism and egg-laying to became much more reptilian-like. These echidnas evolved into a hotter and dry enviroment and are R-strategist, no more incubating their eggs in their pouch but otherwise burrowing then in the ground. The monitor echidna developed queratin-based pseudoteath in their mouths and hunts with their excelent sense of smell. It eats eggs of other echidnas, young echidnas and carcasses.

Their spikes are derived furr, and helpes them survive other bigger echidnas, include their adults when their are young.
