Description Charpie quickly turned away from Knight and grabbed Shaina by the arm, pulling her in and loudly whispering, "WHAT THE HELL IS HE WEARING?"

"Clothes it would seem. It's the latest craze you know."

"SHAINA!"

Shaina wasn't fazed. "Oh, he didn't tell you? We ran into each other while you were out training, we talked for a little bit, disagreed over some stuff, and he agreed to help out when it was brought up. I wasn't going to turn down a perfectly good walking advertisement."

"Really, Shaina? You've already roped enough people into this! Couldn't you have backed
off at least once? "

"That's a rhetorical question, right?"

Charpie face palmed, or at least wanted too. Except that contestants were actually starting to appear, and the last thing she needed was another embarrassment. "Shaina…I just want to know one thing….why?"

Shaina wrapped her arm around Charpie's shoulders, bring her in closely. "Remember that time you hooked me up with your lab partner, Luis Santino?"

Charpie's eyebrow went up. "Yeah…"

"This is for not telling me that he was into role playing."

"……."

Shaina grinned and patted her friend on the back. "Looks like everyone's here. Good luck!"

"Thanks," was all that Charpie managed to say before stepping away. She glanced at her cell phone and noticed that they were only a few minutes away from the official announcements. She stopped right next to Knight. "I am SO sorry you got roped into this," she apologized.

Knight adjusted his official BBC hat. "Don't worry about it. This is kind of
intermeresting."

Charpie grimaced, at both his language and his idea of interesting, "Oh you have no idea…"

"Good morning contestants! Hope you're all awake and ready for Round 2!" Mike announced as he flew over the heads of the waiting trainers. He was equally greeted by a chorus of mumbling and yawning. Judge Rob tried his best to explain, but was constantly interrupted by that jackass of a pokemon, B3RT. Charpie understood his pain, all too well.

Yet Steve was able to rescue him and took over."Today's battles are 'splash' battles, meaning they will take place on (or in) Holon Lake. Rafts will be provided for the trainers, but the pokemon are on their own here. There is no limit on pokemon today, but all battles MUST be on the water, okay?"

Charpie took a deep breath. A splash battle didn't sound so bad. Most of her pokemon were well equipped to handle the water.

Steve continued. "Now then, please direct your attention to your Smartdexes. Mr. Sinnohmin will update the match order in three….two…one."

Charpie phones violently beeped in her hand along with the other contestants around her. She quickly went to the app that announced the opponents and looked for her name. She was paired up with a trainer named Dominic.

Knight looked through his phone. "I'm against Reika and it looks like our battle is last. What about you?"

"Someone named Dominic and our match is eighth on the list."

He looked deep in thought for a second. "That name sounds familiar. I've heard other competitors talk about him. Something about a unique pokemon…"

"Really?"

Knight looked over her shoulder. "Yeah, look at his profit."

"You mean profile," she corrected, but regardless Charpie did as she was told and flipped through to Dominic's profile. "He has a lot of advanced pokemon, including a….." Charpie paused, and reread the last part over again. Yet she still couldn't believe what she was reading.

"Including a what?" Knight asked.

Charpie thrust the phone in his face. "A LATIOS! HE HAS A FREAKING LATIOS!"

Knight calmly took her hand down and took out his own phone. "A latios? I don't think I've heard of that one. Must be from an area that I haven't traveled to."

Charpie was still freaking out. "It's a legendary. A FREAKING LEGENDARY!"

Shaina was behind her in a heartbeat. "What's wrong?"

Charpie showed her the profile on the phone. "HE HAS A LATIOS!"

Shaina's eye twitched as she grabbed Charpie's phone, looking at it with disbelief. "A LEGENDARY?!"

Knight interrupted them, reading from his phone. "It's a minor legendary actually."

"Whatever," Shaina said. She turned back to Charpie. "Is that even allowed?"

Charpie rubbed her head, feeling a tension headache starting. "Apparently so, since the judges examined all contestants' pokemon as soon as we left the ferry." She looked back at Shaina. "What am I going to do? I trained my team like hell and there's no way we can
survive against a legendary!"

"Minor legendary," Knight piped in.

"Whatever," Charpie mumbled. "What if he decides to use it?! I'm screwed!"

"Calm down. There has to be something you can do," Shaina reasoned. "It's just a pokemon."

"Yeah," Charpie mocked scoffed, "only a legendary pokemon.."

"It's a minor legendary," Knight corrected.

Charpie and Shaina both turned on him. "WHATEVER!"

"It is possible to beat Latios," spoke up a serious voice from behind them. The trio turned around to see the ex competitor Collin, also dressed in a Bibarel Berry Company shirt that read "Only Real Men Enjoy Berries".

Charpie snuck a glare at Shaina, who blatantly ignored it. Instead she addressed their would be savior. "Oh, hi Collin. What do you mean?"

Collin nodded to Shaina and looked at Charpie. "Back home in Hoenn, I've gone up against and defeated them several times. Overall they have an average defense. All it would take is a few good hits, especially if they are effective."

Charpie thought for a second. "Wait a second…" She looked back at her phone and searched for the pokedex app. "If we're talking an average defense…" Shaina and Knight looked over her shoulder as she searched for the information she was looking for.

Charpie found it. "It says that Latios is a psychic dragon type, which means that Temeraire and Louie may stand a chance."

Shaina looked hopeful. "That's good, no?"

Charpie shook her head. "Except that neither of them can fly and Latios can."

Collin agreed. "That's going to be a problem."

Thinking, Charpie removed her glasses to clean them. The pokedex also said that Latios could fly quickly and even hide from his foes. It would be a tough battle if Dominic decided to use him but if Charpie could get one of her pokemon in the air, she was sure her team stood a breath of a chance. If only Temeraire had evolved into a Dragonaire during her training stint, he most likely only needed a little more time.

Charpie paused, her eyes widening.  That was it!

"Did you think of something?" Shaina asked.

Charpie nodded, placing her glasses back on. "I just need to evolve Temeraire. if I can, Latios won't be the only one in the sky. The only issue is that I'm not sure how much more experience he needs, or if I'm able to give it to him in the short amount of time we have. "

Knight stepped in. "I'll do it."

"Huh?"

"I'll help you evolve him. I have a few pokemon that'll give him the necessary experience."

Charpie smiled weakly. "That's really nice of you but you need to worry about your own match."

Knight shook his head. "Don't worry about it. I'll have time since I'm last. I don't think you could handle a legendary and I want to help even the odds."

Charpie could feel the blood rushing to her face. She didn't really know what to say. "Uh…thank you, Knight."

Shaina quickly nudged Charpie. "Sounds like a plan. You two better get going, I'll call you as soon as it comes close to Charpie's match. Thanks Knight. I hate to say it but we owe you one."

Knight looked straight at Charpie. "I'm doing it to help her out."

Charpie couldn't say anything.
