Like a cockatoo, his head plumage can be opened to look more intimidating or impressive (this mostly occurs when he is scared)
Main color of the wings and feathers is a black matching his points – tail feathers are speckled with red, other feathers with yellow. When opened, the head plumage reveals orange color

Ephraim is a naturally submissive person who melds his personality and desires to match those around him - but especially those of his master, Sasha. Ephraim is extremely loyal to Sasha, although Sasha has given very little reason for this devotion, from which one can only conclude that obedience is more of an obsession to him than anything else.
Easily intimidated and pummeled to submission with words or threats of violence, Ephraim is not a fighter, or an argumentor, or much of anything, really. What he excels at is being helpful, especially since he had absolutely no moral inhibitors about the sort of help that he can provide.
Has a tendency to lie about pretty much everything and anything. Only honest with Sasha, and even that is hard sometimes.

HISTORY
First child of a large rural family, Ephraim learned to take responsibility early on, and especially learned how to carry his lot in silent submission. Was never taught to be truly independent, and so found it easy to sell himself into servitude to help his family. Has been sworn to Sasha since he was barely an adult, and followed his master to exile on the Isles with no complaints, although if Sasha had asked, he would have objected.
Has recently come to terms with the idea that the Isles thing is not a phase, and is trying to be more helpful with the "pirate things", as Sasha so eloquently and knowledgeably calls them.
