hmmm.. well i'm an experienced sewer and i can make one in a day. someone newer to sewing it would take longer i'm sure. it just depends on your sewing knowledge and how much time you have to sit and work on it. the more you make the faster they will go

I love this tutorial and am actually in the process of making a purple scalemate right now. I just have one question how am I supposed to sew on the eyes at the end???

ah, that a tricky one to explain over the computer but i'll try
decide where you want them, match them up so they're even, then poke a couple pins into the holes, just to hold them in place. stick the needle under the button, catch the fabric, and then bring it up through a button hole. stick the needle down in another hole and instead of trying to catch the fabric, just grab it and pull it out from under the button. now go ahead and run the needle through the fabric under the button and pull it out from under the button on the other side. manipulate the button so that you can stick the needle up through a button hole. (manipulate meaning - push down hard of one side of the button to make the other side raise up so you can get at the underside of it) keep repeating this until it's secure. it's ok to be a little rough with his head while you're doing this, squeezing on him and stuff LOL make the end knot under the button to hide it. i hope this helped. good luck!!
ps - if you just absolutely can't sew them on i suppose hot glue could work, it just wont be as durable over time.

hahaha the noose! yes, i googled it and i liked this illustration the best. some of them made it look way more complicated than it really is.
