Description
Awww! Thank you, for the suggestion and for giving me a DD. It is really nice to take a break from working to see that a ton of people are looking at and liking my work. You guys rock!I have to admit I was a bit shocked, I figured would get the DD before any of my other work, but I'm just happy that my work was good enough to get a DD.
Show me some love on
Name: Rasp Crusader
Blade Material: Horseshoe Rasp
Handle Materila: Orange/black G-10
OAL: 15"
I was commissioned by prison guard that also preaches at a Cowboy church, a to make a knife that was a cross between the style of blade on [link] and [link] Fitting name, no?
He had a Nicholson rasp that he wanted it out of and had their material all ready for me. Not really sure where he got the handle material from, after working it I assume it's G-10. He also wanted me to keep the Nicholson logo on the skull crusher visible, which is why there is so much metal on it. On top of that he wanted a hole in the back. I've always been fond of lanyard holes closer to the spine of the knife, so it gave me a chance to do that.
I was happy about the choice of handle material he had given me to work with, it gave me a chance to use the neon orange paracord that I've had for a long time now. I've just never made a knife with it on the handle, because I wasn't sure if people would like it. So I have a whole roll of Neon Orange and Neon Red that I've never even touched. Looking at this knife, I might use some of them to make a hunting set or something.
That would be fun.
Anyway, I felt it was okay to post this up on here since he is using it as his profile picture on his FB now. So I think it's okay if people see it.
I also decided to play 'Where's Waldo' with my name. It was hidden a lot better before I gave it a mirror polish. Waldo is pretty old you know, he can't hide as well as he use to.

Wow, that's an amazing rasp knife. I've seen so many that were still very chunky. This has very nice lines.

Ooh. Quite neat, Logan! I've never been a fan of orange on
blades, but hey... It works! Good stuff here!

Thanks man. I'm not a fan of orange either and neither was the guy that wanted it on the knife. But it did work out nicely. I would never have made a knife to sell with orange on it, not unless it was already sold before I made it. After seeing this one though, I'm starting to reconsider.
