For this fourth entry I wanted to experiment on the concept of a character sheet, and I’m pretty satisfied with the end result. Superpowers sounds cool on paper and most of the time there aren’t particular flaws to them, but what if they had some? I knew that someone on the team needed to have some sort of ability, or they wouldn’t stand a chance against guys like Sloth, Duke or even Wetterkaiser, but that would make the rest of the team look obsolete, and despite the fact that the team has already Sugar as the muscles, I wanted to do a different take on one of the most iconic and versatile superpower out there: super strength.
Builder was just a 17 years old that has lived all of her life in an orphanage of a small town in the country of High India. She was timid and awkward around others, but her fascination with physics and mechanics, brought her to build many weird invention that she tried to use to impress her peers, without success. She always wanted to see the world outside of the little town, and her chance came when she got contacted by a mysterious person who offered her a challenge: if she collected a special key in a certain location and later went to the city of Heaventropolis, she would have had the chance to enter a newborn secret organization called S.O.B.E.C. . As She Accepted the offer and started to prepare her things, she discovered her call got intercepted when the terrorist group known as “Spiral” started attacking the town, burning everything and anyone they may find “full of sin”. Panicking Builder fled into the wild and found shelter in what appeared to be an abandoned bunker. This however wasn’t just the work of a lunatic believing in the end of the world, but a government structure, that was destroyed during the so called superhuman crisis. As she later discovered the lab was built to create a super soldier capable of stopping the superhuman threat, unfortunately none of the many compounds created by the lab were tested in time. While exploring the place, Builder accidentally knocked down one of the serums on herself. Panicking once again she fled the bunker in a hurry, despite not knowing that during her panic she might have freed something else. After realizing that her body didn’t mutate in any unexpected ways, she calmed down and looking back at what was left of her “home” she began her journey. Being young and naive, Builder got screwed over by other volunteers multiple times, but her ingenuity and creativity got her out of many dangerous situations. During her travels, she sometimes experience intense muscle pains, that she assumed were caused by the weight of her backpack. She realized she had gained superhuman strength only when she was confronted by a group of hitmen from the Rubino family, her power made quick work of them, but she didn’t really meant to use, in fact she was incapable of controlling it. This fact took a toll on her as she tried to avoid making contact with everyone she met, fearing she might instantly kill them. When she finally reached Custoza and find herself on the boat with the other surviving volunteers, she cracked, incapable of dealing with the constant anxiety of hurting the people around her. The team quickly became attached to her, understanding the amount of traumas she have been through, all except Bancomat, not really used to get attached to people. When the team got under siege by members of the pack, after breaking into an apartment building, she was able to properly use her power to provide cover to the surrounding civilians. Her muscle pain however got stronger each day even after the team reached the headquarters, and her body eventually adapted to her new powers, giving her even less control over her abilities, becoming too stressed out to carry out the most mondane of tasks, fearing of breaking whatever she’s holding. In the meantime the team became somewhat of a family to her, with Tiger being some sort of father figure that she could relay on. Sugar seemed to be particularly attached to her, like a big brother would protect his sister, he would be the one helping her control her power, which is pretty ironic as he’s incapable of controlling his temper. Even Bancomat grew attached to her eventually, giving her terrible advices on how to approach other people. She seems to be able to control her strength she’s concentrating on a new project, on which she spend most of her nights on. Her gadgets would help the team in many situations, but her social anxiety and unstable powers, can lead to some problems during missions that require a more subtle approach.
