Does everyone remember this guy, No? Well I don’t blame you, it was an enemy of Captain America, after he got out of the Iceberg, who was dressed as a member of KKK, used a “hate gun” to make people evil, and was secretly a clone of Hitler, I mean how evil can a man be? And he wasn’t even a one timer, he fought Cap numerous times before he was killed. Despite this goofy premise, I actually think that a villain that make people go berserk is actually really interesting, but the “hate gun” and the all Hitler stuff was so over the top that kinda ruined the concept. So since I’m making a Spider-Man AU that needs some villains, I decided to remake this guy, and this time he won’t be Hitler, because that’s just dumb.

Backstory

Arnold McDonnell worked as a psychiatrist at a research institute for mental disabilities, finding ways to improve these people conditions, it was originally a non profit institution, but thanks to Future Tech, Harry an Peter’s company, they finally had enough funds to continue their research full time. Arnold however was there for a different reason: he was fascinated by the human mind and wondered if it was possible to improve this already seemingly perfect system. So once he finally got the funds given by Future Tech, he decided to start some experiments on the field. Some researchers noticed that some patients went missing, but they couldn’t thought that someone was using them as lab rats. But Arnold’s motives weren’t evil in nature, he actually thought he could cure them, but few came out from those inhumane experiments. The other researchers called the police from further investigation, an Arnold, the last person to saw the patients was the prime suspect. He was immediately arrested and sent to jail. 1 month later however Arnold escaped. Apparently someone broke him out, but the reason to this is unknown. Enraged Arnold decided to use his research to reach havoc at his former workplace. He created a costume and use some untested blueprints, pretty much using himself as a guinea pig. He stormed in a purple and blue outfit, wearing some sort of metal crown over his head, and before anyone could say something he activated the device making anyone in the building go insane and started attacking each other. This was supposed to happened according to Arnold, but the device had another use, using the frequencies of the maddened subjects around him, his mind and body would get more powerful, and after he was attacked by a former patient he got prove that his invention worked. Spider-Girl however was quick to come up to the scene, but once at the location, a loud buzzing noise caused her great pain, as her mutated brain was different than the subjugated victims. The fight against Hatemonger inevitably turned out bad for the heroine, who couldn’t stay focus because of the noise emitted from the helmet, so she couldn’t prevent Arnold to get away with his old researches, but she still prevented worse outcomes for everyone else involved. After a few modifications to her suit, Mayday faced the villain once again while he was on his way to the police station, this time things were just slightly easier, since now instead of the noise, she had to deal with a larger maddened crowd alongside the supervillain who got more stronger by second. Fortunately the device jammed to the extreme amount of brain waves it was absorbing, and so Spider-Girl was able to put an end to Hatemonger’s short but intense reign of terror
