Description
So, I previously made a superhero group ( www.deviantart.com/logbot03/ar… ), so now I decided to give them a story and some antagonists. Basically the most powerful heroes and villains disappeared into thin air with a lot of other people, including millionaires, politicians and many others authority figures, but to make matters worse, the a few of the super criminals that didn’t disappear, teamed up to form a team, that is now causing mayhem across the world, while monstrous beings are doing the same. So one of the last authorities, a man called the grand planner, was able to secure some of the few superhumans in the world, the problem is that they don’t know how to be heroes, while their enemies have quite a lot of experience.

I based most of these guys on goofy concepts and bad movies, since they’re supposed to be joke villains that are now raising above the rest.

Introducing the team:

1) Real name: Gustav Polanski
Other aliases: Doctor Diabolicus
Crimes committed: murder, kidnapping, attempted act of terrorism on a global scale,
Powers: none
Threat level: 5/10

( based around the character of the same name from the ridiculous b-movie the Invincible Batman, for the design I basically stayed loyal to the original, I couldn’t make it more goofier)

Bio: Gustav Polanski has been a thorn on the side of many heroes, a very small thorn, but still a relevant one. Known for kidnapping street thugs an junkies and attaching them to explosive belts, forcing them to become his henchmen. He has a terrifying amount of resources, but fortunately he has always used them in uselessly complex plans, for problems with simple solutions. He’s tendency to make extensive and detailed monologues to the heroes didn’t help him either. He’s known to always wear unusual outfits which made him quite recognizable in the criminal world.
The Doctor has a genius level intellect, and has a tendency to show off his brilliance, probably the reason of his unnecessary complex schemes. He’s the one who put the group together, realizing that kidnapping random idiots from the streets wasn’t the best choice. So he decided to instead convince a group of low class villains into follow him in his escape and later in his schemes of world domination. Naturally he had to chose members with a particular set of skills, fortunately he was incarcerated in a prison for superhumans and super criminals, so he had a vast choice.

2) Real name: Samantha Tisshman
Other aliases: Darkmantle
Crimes: attempted murder, public nuisance, aggression
Powers: levitation, producing black smoke, poisonous tentacles
Threat level: 2/10

( for this character I was inspired by a DND monster of the same name)

Bio:
Samantha always felt inferior to everyone around her, she had great grades at school, a loving family, and graduated with the highest grade in archeology, but she wasn’t happy with the way she looks. Everyone told her that her appearance didn’t matter, that she was still an amazing person with a promising future, but she always thought they were saying that out of pity. One day she found in an underground library in Venice a book named “Necronomicon”. Naturally she had heard the tales that surrounded the book, and hoping this was her chance to become beautiful she tried asking the ancient ones for help, unfortunately she ended up on the wrong page and summoned the most pathetic abomination of the book, a darkmantle, which fused with her, making her go insane in the process. She was later contained when she attacked a fashion show and the Necronomicon was sealed away forever. Her powers involve her using the Darkmantle’s tentacles that can poison the victim ( to a non lethal level) and creating a black some cloud of gaseous ink, since the darkmantle can fly, it can also make Samantha levitate. Her black cloud was the reason Diabolicus chose to free her, as he thought it would have been perfect for a quick escape, but since she was in a containment cell, he first needed to find a powerhouse.

3) Real name: Bernam Laser
Other aliases: Mega Force
Crimes: attempted robbery, aggression, acts of terrorism
Powers: super strength and stamina
Threat level: 3/10

( Mega Force was inspired by a b movie of the same name, probably the most testosterone fueled experience I ever had)

Bio:
Bernam Laser have been the main muscle man of many gangs of thugs, always getting busted with ease by heroes and cops alike, but one day when he tried to steal an experimental reactor on his own, he got blasted by its energy, turns out that the generator was able to automatically produce its own energy, and now he was able to do the same, but to do so he had to concentrate, after that he had 20 minutes to use his powers before recharging. To make simple, his recharging looks like Goku when he enters a super Sayan stage, but without the aura of power surrounding him, which is objectively pretty funny, but the effects are totally worth it. The problem is that Bernam isn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, so before every hit, he inters the building with his costume on, screams for a couple of minutes while charging,and starts wrecking stuff. Unfortunately it only worked the first time since nobody knew his power, he even defeat a couple of heroes before the 20 minutes ended. Diabolicus realized just by looking at him that Mega Force was an idiot, but an idiot with potential, so if he started charging before starting starting the plan, and with some back up while he was charging, he could have been the perfect tank, but where could he found the perfect defender?

4) Real name: Nella Morelli
Other aliases: Malombra
Crimes: vandalism, aggression, armed robbery, murder
Powers: shadow manipulation
Threat level: 3/10

( I based this character over an Italian folklore creature I covered in a previous entry)

Nella was born in a very poor family in Rosolini( Sicily), her father worked for a shady architect that constructed abusive buildings for the mob to use as bases of operations, so she quickly got involved in the criminal world since she was 13, joining the mob clan known as “Stidda”( the star) where teens where used as agents. Things were going smoothly until her father was arrested and she went on the run from the police. Since then she stayed in an abandoned mansion that the Stidda used as a storage, but on her 17th birthday, her life changed forever. While she was exploring the mansion with a couple of friends, she found a mask, after putting it on as a joke, she felt something brewing inside of her. After an intense pain, she later discovered that she had created some sort of bond with the object, which gave her the ability to bend her own shadow to her likings. With this new power she started a violent crime spree with her gang that abruptly ended when a hero showed up. She was immediately sent to the Grand Canyon penitentiary, basically on the other side of the world. Fate wanted that this was the same prison where Doctor Diabolicus was held, thus he was able to come in contact with her using an artisanal walkie talkie. Unfortunately the team lacked on some firepower and agility.

Crimes: trespassing of private property, public nuisance
Powers: apparent immortality, sticky skin
Threat level: 0/10

Bio:
Nobody knows who Suction Cup man really is, he just showed up one day wearing a red ski mask and a dark green thigh suit with red dots, while he was climbing a building with his bare hands. After a rude and uncomfortable negotiation with this weird character the cops were forced to take him off the tower with force, but during the attempt he fell from the 60th floor of the skyscraper. To everyone surprise thou, instead of crushing his body, he just got up and started climbing again. For the last 3 years, Suction Cup man has repeated this cycle countless times, until the New-Yorkers got tired of him swearing at them from their windows and the police finally decided to arrest him and sent him to the Grand Canyon penitentiary. Suction Cup man has never killed anyone, but he’s probably capable of doing, since he doesn’t really seem to care about anything that happens around him if it doesn’t give him any sort of thrill. This aspect of his personality let him accept the Doctor’s proposal of working together.

Powers: none ( uses technology)
Threat level: 4/10

( I just saw an old power ranger concept and the name just came naturally, this guy’s my favorite)

Self thought in wind engineering ( because the manuals costed less), Cassius Cale built himself a suit after he lost his job at the local bank, and decided to take revenge on his superiors, as The Flying Dutchman. Unfortunately it didn’t go well as a hero showed. Cassius equipment was strong, but the hero was just is perfect counter. The vindictive villain swore that he would ruin the hero’s life, and so he became a staple in his rouges gallery. Cassius’s attempts however were always not really on point as he just committed crimes hoping to attract the hero, and after every defeat he created new gadgets, like his windmill boomerangs, but all of that seemed useless, until one day he found out his secret identity and took his family as hostages. The hero came there just in time as Cassius was torturing his wife, and once again defeated him. But in a way Cassius has won that day, hurting his nemesis to his core. After this event The Flying Dutchman was labeled too dangerous to be put in a regular prison, so he was sent to Grand Canyon penitentiary where he meet Diabolicus.

Powers: portal creation
Threat level: 5/10

Johnny’s life was a living hell, his father was a drinker and addicted to gambling, his mother died during childbirth, his classmates bullied him, and he didn’t had any friends. Until one day it got even worse, when he gained his powers. During a fight with a villain a heroine was fighting a powerful foe, until an engine of some sort blew up right in front of him. Whatever that thing was, turned Johnny into a glitchy humanoid capable of creating portals. The portals can also be connected so that if he put an end into one of them, the same hand could come out of three. Johnny later went ended up killing his abusive father, and asked the heroine who he saw previously fighting for help. She however gave him up to the police and was sent to Grand Canyon penitentiary, were his father’s abuses got substituted with the ones of the guards and the other inmates, until he overheard a conversation between Diabolicus and Malombra, and later approached the team after following Mega Force to one of their secret meetings. Despite his unexpected entrance, after hearing the kid’s power Diabolicus was convinced that he could have been a great asset to the team. There Johnny found something he always wished for: friends.
