Okay, I had this idea around for a while, to redesign the Spot, since it’s a villain with insanely large potential, being connected to a literal parallel universe and practically impossible to kill, but I never had an inventive design to make him look more interesting nor a cool backstory. For this new design the biggest inspiration was the look that the user Green-Mamba had chosen for his version, which I suggest you to check out ( on the deviant page you can find a big Spider-Man project which is really cool and includes a lot of interesting takes on known and unknown characters from the franchise). For the origin story I think it would be the perfect opportunity to give one of my already established villains a little more development.

Bio:

When Mayday’s school offered its students to make part-time experiences, Mayday preferred not to visits one of her father’s lab, as she thought it would be a lazy choice, so she followed her friends Normie, Gerry and Karly to the laboratory of doctor Jonathan Ohnn, the reformed villain once known as the Spot. After analyzing his powers, Ohnn had started to developing a new way of transportation: portals. The portals would have gone through the dimensions that had given him his powers, without mutating or killing the travelers. Thanks to his powers Ohnn has gain a much slower aging process, which made him look much younger to the students, during a few weeks of experiments however, the group was surprised to find on the lab’s doorstep the serial killer known as Reikai, which Mayday fought many times. During this period her friends didn’t discovered her powers yet so she had to find a place to hide as fast as she can. Ohnn tried to use his powers to let everyone escape, but to his surprise, Reikai had somehow interrupted his connection to the dark dimension. Mayday used this opportunity to sneak away alongside her friends as the doctor told them too, and suit up, however Reikai was able to get his hands on her friend Normie, using him as leverage to get the doctor Ohnn to do his biddings and for the first time since Mayday has first fought him, he spoke, asking the doctor to activate the prototype portal. Still shocked by this event, Mayday tried to take Reikai by surprise, but he had already activated the portal. She was able to get Normie and the doctor out of the way, but she just postponed the inevitable when she kicked the psychopath away from the device. Like a moth to a flame, the villain moved closer to the portal,while chanting disconnected words in Japanese,using his ability to become intangible to prevent Spider-girl from getting him away, and as soon as he touched the portal, a wave of negative energy invested him. He stood up again with his clothes torn to pieces, showing off his new form: a twisted and distorted version of Ohnn mutation. Now not only he could create black flames and become intangible, but now the flames could harden into solid shapes or turn into portals. Easy to say that the killer made quick work of the heroine, getting away with his newfound powers.

For the design I tried to give him a resemblance of who he was before the mutation, making him wear his original clothes, while getting rid of the mask in favor of a screaming face made with the spot on his body, while the black smoke that he emitted from his head and hands now surrounds his whole body.
