Description Hopefully you guys can follow this. This is the easiest way I've found to return any straight ponytail wig to its frizz free glory.

Any Miku or Linalee cosplayer knows how bad these wigs can get the moment you put it on, let alone halfway into a con. With the above methods though my wigs look brand new every-time I use them.

Added benefits is the product left in the wigs from this process makes them slightly less likely to frizz.

EDIT: The little pink bottle of wig spray is no longer available at this time, you can make your own with liquid fabric softener and water though!

This will help a lot for future cosplays I wish to do. And my friend had a slight problem with this with her Wendy (Fairy Tail) cosplay. I'm going to link this to her. <3

I'm glad I found this tutorial! Thank you so much!
oh and does the wig stay frizz free even at a con?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LolaInProgress In reply to shiroineko4 [2012-06-01 03:22:57 +0000 UTC]

Sadly no, long wigs will rub against your clothing causing friction. HOWEVER If you put a lot of product into the wig (silicone or wigspray) it WILL frizz less and personally I carry around a small bottle of wigspray and brush to tidy it up during sitting breaks. If you braid it until you get to the con (or not wear the clips until you get there) that will also buy you a little bit of time frizzwise, if you plan to take photos, do them as soon as you can.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for this tutorial! ;U; so helpful! exactly what I needed for my Half-Zombie-Dead-Miku Ponytails xD
and seriously.. them long wigs..... I think they live just to tangle together! xD

though I was thinking of cosplaying Stocking, so... yeah,
I'm so gonna use this tut when that wig gets all tangled! :,D

awesome tutorial btw! I am doing this ASAP! x3

Long wigs are the bane of a cosplayers existence ;0;

I really wish I'd written this tutorial out better tbh so I hope you can follow it ok!

Shjinchan In reply to LolaInProgress [2011-09-29 12:52:09 +0000 UTC]

FF haha yes xD

I can! I think it's really easy to understand! ^^

oh btw, can you use Silicone Spray for cars, for the wig too? I know it's kind of a silly question but... just wanted to know xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LolaInProgress In reply to Shjinchan [2011-09-29 23:43:28 +0000 UTC]

Yup! The first stuff I used was car silicone spray! But Im a tad allergic to it so I avoid it, honestly the $3 bottle of stuff in my description is much better for you and your wig BUT if you need something in a pinch car silicone spray works, the smell does fade, but needs time so always do it at least 24 hours before you need the wig

This is great!
Would you happen to have some tips to keep a wig from tangling easily while wearing it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LolaInProgress In reply to Shourei [2011-09-03 00:48:10 +0000 UTC]

Sadly theres not much you CAN do. HOWEVER. you can get the little bottle of spray in my description, keep it on you and brush it out when it gets too bad, I also stick some anti static spray through the wig. But yeah,
[link]
This was me at a con a few days ago, thats about as frizzy as my wig got. And when it got too bad, just pulled out my spray and comb when you sitdown for lunch and BAM good as new ahaha

I've yet to try this, but my Miku ponytail was getting so stubborn I was starting to lose hope...

Will this method fix fluffy ends that were damaged from pulling?
